I wanted to study abroad to explore a different way of learning as well as a different culture. I wanted to expand my knowledge of my own Major and the best way for me to do this was to travel! I went to Queens College in New York and it was honestly the best decision I have made. The city aspect as well as the school it's self. The course is just incredible and is expanding my knowledge so much.
The one thing I wish I had known before the exchange was how long the the commute was I had to do as it does take me an hour and a half each day to get there but I've been here a while know and it's fine you get used to commuting in the busy city. I didn't think that the exchange would impact my studies as much as it has I have grown as a performer and my understanding of the theory behind it is so much better.
So far a stand out memory for me is going to lots of Broadway's shows and making new friends from all around the world. If there was any advice I would give to someone coming to Queens is to just enjoy every moment you here as it goes by so quickly. New York was very different to the quietness of Chichester, there's people everywhere and everything is open 24/7.
I really like the contrast between Chichester and New York as I got to experience the hustle and bustle of a normal city lifestyle. The main difference between the two would be how busy you are whilst at University, you have so many more lessons that are a lot more practical. The professors here are just as nice as the ones in Chichester so I would definitely recommend going!
