How To: Apply for Mitigating Circumstances

By ChiUni 04 Sep 2017

If you have a valid reason for missing an exam or assignment deadline then you have the opportunity to apply for mitigating circumstances. If they are accepted then, in the case of failure or non-submission, you will be given the opportunity to take the assessment on a first-sit basis in the next assessment period. Make sure to apply for mitigating circumstances BEFORE the deadline wherever possible.

(If you need an extension you should speak to your programme coordinator).

  1. Log onto ChiView: log-in is the same as email and moodle, it's the yellow box as soon as you log-in!
  2. Click onto Mitigating Circumstances: once logged into ChiView, there is a yellow box on the left side that says Mitigating Circumstances
  3. Start new claim: Click on start new claim to apply for mitigating circumstance. All claims require evidence so make sure you have the correct documents to support this.
