When asked 'What has surprised you in your first few days of University?', last year's new University of Chichester students said (Top 5):
- How friendly, welcoming and supportive it is
- How easy it has been to settle in and make new friends
- Accommodation-related stuff
- How much support there is
- How much freedom and independence there is
However, several new students said they were having trouble settling in, and quite a few said they were homesick. We were able to provide more info and support to those who requested it.
If you are a new undergraduate, please take the Induction Survey and let us know about your induction experience in 2017: https://chichester.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/2017-induction-survey
The University of Chichester acts on student feedback. For example, almost all subjects have a follow-up session with their Subject Librarian to reiterate the basic info they receive in their first induction (which was shortened to help with ‘overload’ fatigue and to go into more depth in some areas). This arose from student feedback in the Induction Survey last year.
